A LITTLE BIT ABOUT JIM

Jim is a family man, cherishing time with his wife and children at their activities and schools in Livonia. The Jollys are active within the Livonia Public Schools, LJAL, the Livonia Community Swim Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Burton Hollow Swim Club, and St. Colette Catholic Church.

While on the City Council, Jim spearheaded initiatives such as the Neighborhood Grant Program, the development of the Tatigian Trail, the master plan for Greenmead Historical Park, and raised private funds for the new Ben Celani Playground at Bicentennial Park.  Jim has demonstrated unwavering commitment to enhancing Livonia's livability and community spirit.

Jim Jolly's dedication, experience, and vision make him an ideal candidate for the 16th District Court, where he aims to continue serving with integrity and diligence, ensuring justice and fairness for all.

LEGAL EXPERIENCE

Jim has demonstrated his commitment to the legal profession and Livonia. Notably, he served as Magistrate of the 16th District Court for seven years.  He is currently serving in his ninth year as a Livonia City Council Member, while also serving as Assistant University Counsel and Associate Provost at Lawrence Technological University, as an attorney at Fausone and Grysko, PLC, and as a Assistant City Attorney and prosecutor for the City of Westland.

EDUCATION

Jim earned his law degree from the University of Detroit School of Law and holds a bachelor degree from Western Michigan University. He is a graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School where he played football and participated in quiz bowl.

His dedication and achievements have been recognized through various accolades, including being named to the Catholic Central Alumni Association 40 under 40 List and receiving the Book Award in Evidence from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

ACTIVITIES

He is deeply rooted in Livonia and actively participates in several organizations, including the Livonia Goodfellows, Livonia Bar Association, the Knights of Columbus - Thomas Dooley, and Seedlings Braille Books for Children.
