Dear Livonia Voters

I am running to be Judge of Livonia's 16th District Court with a record of being fair, honest, and showing good judgement for our community. I love my family and Livonia and will continue to work everyday to protect both through an unwavering commitment to justice, service, and the rule of law.

I worked my way through law school as the law clerk for Judge Marla Parker of the 47th District Court in Farmington Hills and then at the Livonia 16th District Court, where I served as a Court Officer and Law Clerk.  I then served as Livonia's Magistrate for seven years.  As Magistrate I presided over criminal and civil matters and I ensured that every individual who entered my courtroom received a fair and impartial hearing and proper application of the law.

My commitment to Livonia led me to become a Livonia Council Member, where I am now serving my 9th year.  As a Council Member, I have had the opportunity to address a wide range of community issues, including those related to the criminal justice in Livonia and court security.  I have worked daily to make our community better.

As an attorney, I have served as a Prosecuting Assistant City Attorney for the City of Westland, and as Assistant University Legal Counsel for Lawrence Technological University.  I have also represented individuals and businesses in courts throughout Southeast Michigan making sure that their rights were protected.

I believe that my experience as a magistrate, lawyer, council member, husband, father, and active community participant have equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and commitment needed to serve as a fair and impartial judge. If elected, I pledge to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and justice, always striving to make Livonia a safer and more just community for all its residents.

Thank you for your consideration and for what you do to make Livonia a great place.

Jim Jolly
